Any Cautions with Coconut Oil?

Coconut oil is safe and gentle and is commonly used in a variety of shampoos and conditioners for its beneficial effects. But even then, there are some cautions:

● While coconut oil is less likely to cause allergies than some other vegetable oils, it doesn’t eliminate the possibility. If your pet is allergic to coconut oil, it is highly reccomended to avoid products containing it.

● Coconut oil is a great moisturizing agent, but pets with greasy fur and/or skin are more likely to benefit from ingredients more likely to dry out some of that oiliness.

● Coconut oil can moisturize the skin by the oil penetrating the pores, but should be used sparingly in areas of skin prone to blackheads and/or acne, as it is capable of clogging pores.
