While HICC PET products are formulated with low-allergy, gentle ingredients like HOCl and CocoPlex™, we understand that some pets have extremely reactive skin. If your pet has a history of severe sensitivities, we highly recommend performing a simple patch test before full application.
What is a Patch Test?
A patch test is a safe way to check how your pet's skin will react to a new product by applying a small amount to a localized area. This helps avoid widespread discomfort in the rare event of an allergy.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Step 1: Choose the Right Spot. Select a small, hairless (or sparsely haired) area on your pet. The belly or the inside of the hind leg are usually the best spots.
- Step 2: Apply the Product. Gently wipe the area with a HICC PET Wipe, or apply a single spritz of our spray.
- Step 3: Monitor. Do not wash the area. Observe your pet's skin for the next 24 hours.
👀 What to look for: Check for excessive redness, swelling, or if your pet is continuously scratching or biting the tested area. If the skin looks normal and your pet is relaxed, it is safe to proceed with your routine grooming!
What if there is a reaction?
If you notice any signs of irritation, gently rinse the area with clean, lukewarm water to remove the product. Discontinue use and reach out to our support team. We offer a hassle-free return policy because we want what is best for your pet.
⚠️ Important Note: HICC PET products are intended for hygiene care and routine grooming. If your pet is currently experiencing an active skin infection or open wounds, please consult your veterinarian before applying any new grooming products.
